Types of existential thoughts/anxiety
Existential thoughts, anxiety may have a few themes
on existence itself: how do we exist, is everything real ? Do we have free will ? on meaning: does life have a meaning ? If not, what’s the point of all these. What makes life worth living ? on death: how can we accept with peace that we all have limited time and have nearly no footprint after long enough. All hard questions, it can be overwhelming given very limited education was available, very few people we can turn to for support and counseling.
Most people may struggle with these questions for some time, but eventually accept there is no answer and move on: either by instinct or by consciousness. Some of us, however, couldn’t let go easily. The perseverance is valid, however does bring more challenges.
There may not be a once-for-all solution. In different stages of life, there could be new triggers, the original mental anchor may evolve, we may need to adapt.
